The graphics are great for this. One thing that kept sticking out to me, was when you light saber would hit the wall or floor, there would be a glowing molten gash. This would then reduce to a black melted line and eventually disappear. Even though it doesn’t stay there I like it a lot. It just added that extra detail. The lighting and forcepush...

Joystiq has a pretty great developer walkthrough showing off the Coop play from the upcoming Mercenaries 2. Pay close attention to the fact the whole game is just one big open world and two players can work together on one mission or split up and do separate missions (ala Crackdown). Also notice the entire environment of the game is destructible. I

This Monday, July 7 is Bungie Day on Xbox Live Marketplace. What does that mean to you? Free stuff! The kind of free stuff that absolutely requires an exclamation point. While free gamerpics and a gratis theme will be available that day and that day only, it's the new map, Cold Storage, that will probably put the biggest strain on Live's servers.

Rob Fetter writes today at Operations Sports about why he thinks the Links series should be revived. Links 2004 is arguably the best console golf game ever made, yet its now legendary next-gen successor got nipped in the bud when Take 2 pulled the plug on it.

This 'How to mod Halo 3 Forge variants' tutorial shows you how to create, modify, and resign a Halo 3 Forge variant. This is intended for beginners who would like an introduction into Halo 3 modding of usermaps. This is not a cheating tutorial and cannot hurt XBL in any way.

With the new DRM tool finally available on Xbox.com, we're sure that everyone has plenty of questions. Thankfully, Joystiq has the answers you need. What can you transfer? How many consoles can you transfer to and from? And then there are questions you may not have though about like: can you sell your licenses to someone else? What about moving licenses to the next Xbox. Head over to Joystiq for their Q&A with Marc Whitten, general manager of Xbox Live.

Yes, there is more Gears of War 2 beta footage to feast your eyes upon (again pulled from ThisIsGame.com and uploaded to YouTube by AnalogHype). It's amazing, almost as amazing as the fact that the other two Gears of War 2 beta videos are still online. There are a few tasty bits in this one. We get to see the Locust version of the UFC-style punching execution for one. Perhaps most interesting is the instance of an interrupted chainsaw duel. As a Locust and COG duel it out (at around 2:45 in the video), a second Locust interrupts with his own chainsaw, thus disrupting the duel, scoring a kill and ensuring that his buddy lives to tell the tale. A beta tester then shouts "duelus interruptus." We think that's going to catch on.
